How to Sell Your Hive!

Getting your home ready to hit the market and sell quickly can be overwhelming!

Hive Helper recommends focusing on a few key tasks that will drastically impact first impressions and give you the confidence you need to sell.

Deep Clean

The most important and effective place to begin! A spotless house will ensure that all photos and showings will be satisfying for both buyers and sellers. If you’re stuck on what to focus on first, here are a few key areas that often need some extra attention:

  • Vacuum, sweep and mop underneath furniture and in overlooked corners to ensure no dust bunnies are hiding out.

  • Scrub your bathroom showers, tubs and toilets and wipe down mirrors, sinks and countertops.

  • Wipe down kitchen countertops, stove and appliance exteriors. Remove any excess kitchen items from countertops and store in cabinets if needed.

  • Dust all surfaces, paying special attention to knick-knack areas.

  • Clean your blinds and baseboards.

  • Wipe down windows and windowsills.

  • Vacuum and refresh rugs, furniture, curtains, and throw pillows.

If you are feeling overwhelmed by this step, Hive Helper is here to assist! Our helpers thrive on ensuring your house is spotless before showing it off.

De-Clutter

This step can be time-consuming, but well worth the effort. Removing household items from kitchen and bathroom counters, paring down on the amount of family photos and cherished decoration, and cleaning up catch-all drawers and stacks of papers will all contribute to the feeling of a clean, spacious home.

Make Repairs

Any glaring messes – holes in walls, broken tile, non-functioning appliances, missing cabinet and drawer handles – can be easy to replace or touch up and will help potential buyers feel at ease when making a decision. If it’s too much for you to handle, enlist a handyman to take some of the burden off of yourself.

Touch Up Paint

A fresh coat of paint can do wonders for a space that seems bland or outdated. Anything neutral is a wonderful choice, as new owners will likely have their own unique colors in mind if they do choose to repaint. If you don’t have time to paint entire rooms, simply check the house’s interior and exterior for peeling paint or marks on the walls, and touch up small areas to avoid drawing unwanted attention.

Flowerbed Cleanup

No need to landscape and execute your dream flowerbed overnight – a simple cleaning up of leaves, weeds, and other unwanted objects can bring a fresh, nurtured look to any flowerbed! If the season and timing allows, a quick planting or potting of cheerful flowers may help with curb appeal but is not essential.
