Enjoy the Outdoors

We have several lovely nature parks and walking trails around the city that are perfect for taking a quiet walk, a bike ride, or a jog. Martin Park Nature Center, Will Rogers Gardens, and of course, the new Scissortail Park are all crowd favorites (be sure to check the park’s website for hours of operation). You could also spend an afternoon at the Wheeler Ferris Wheel, taking a ride on their iconic Ferris Wheel, playing any of their yard games, or just relaxing on a giant hammock with a good book.

Host a SMALL Neighborhood Gathering

Feeling cooped up? Invite your neighbors over for a casual evening of grilling and enjoying the outdoors together. If the weather is crummy, you could organize a game night, perhaps accompanied by a charcuterie board and simple drinks. If you need a dose of creative inspiration, maybe you could host a crafting/painting afternoon. The options are endless – all you need is good company and a great playlist!

Have a Self-Care Day

We never need an excuse to take a little extra time for ourselves! Book a massage, a mani or pedi, or a facial – or all three! Meet a friend at the gym or a yoga class, spend some time meditating, or curl up on the couch with hot coffee and a new book. Listen to whatever your body needs from you and give it some attention.

Need to Entertain Little Ones? Try One of These Ideas:

-Create a list of nature items to hunt for (acorns, clovers, etc.) and set out for a nature walk – simple and free!

-Dig through your bookshelf and find some forgotten books to enjoy throughout the week.

-Find a new recipe to create together. We love this simple Pop-Tart Recipe from the Lemons and Zest blog!

-Stretch your creative muscles: Work together to create a song or poem to perform, write and illustrate a children’s book, build an elaborate fort, or make beads from clay to string into a necklace. Ideas like these will help children get lost in a storyline or a project, and they just might forget about their devices or TV shows for an afternoon!

-If you haven’t check out Play Cafe, head there for an afternoon to recover your sanity while amazing Play Attendants show some love to your children!

Whatever you find yourself doing this week, we hope you can spend some quality time with ones that you love.

Take care!
