With the arrival of autumn comes the changing and falling leaves — shades of orange, red, yellow, and green appear like confetti thrown on sidewalks and across lawns. This is the perfect time to send the kiddos outside to collect a handful and do the following project together!
To complete this project, you’ll need:
Leaves
A double boiler (or a make-shift one by placing a metal bowl into a pot or crockpot)
Something to hang the leaves while they are drying (we used these)
Instructions
Melt the beeswax in the double boiler
Once the wax is melted, let the dipping begin! We found that less is more.
The wax will begin to harden relatively quickly, so dip quick and then re-heat as needed until all the leaves are dipped.
After each leaf is dipped, clip onto a string to dry
That’s really it! Now you can string your leaves into a garland, or use them for some other fun fall craft (hello, cutest Thanksgiving place cards!) The leaves smell delicious, so make sure to take a deep breath of that goodness and enjoy this craft alongside loved ones.
